Victorian awnings at The Trafalgar

29 May 2018

These smart,  Victorian awnings at The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich suit perfectly their location on this iconic, historic public house.  The  graphics to these awnings are of particular note, being applied in genuine Gold Leaf by our skilled crafts people. This finishing touch to the awnings reflects the quality and the historical nature of the venue.  Victorian awnings have to be extremely sturdy and hard wood boxes which are always used by us ensure the integrity of construction have been sourced only from suitable licensed suppliers which is in line with our environmental policy.

The Trafalgar Tavern is a Grade II listed public house at Park Row, Greenwich, London, situated on the south bank of the River Thames, east of and adjacent to the Old Royal Naval College.  It has variously been a pub, an hotel, the venue for Liberal party Dinners and a home for invalided seamen. The tavern was designed by architect Joseph Kay, opened in 1837, having been built on the site of 'The Old George Tavern'. It was familiar to novelist Charles Dickens, who set the wedding breakfast in Our Mutual Friend there. The specially commissioned statue of Lord Nelson outside is testament to this, denoting the respect the owners have for the pub’s unique history while offering the luxury of modern events and dining. This inspiring venue provides the ideal surroundings for a casual drink, delectable dinner or an unforgettable event.
