This Victorian awning we have installed at Blancpain fine watches in New Bond Street have two features worth noting. Firstly the awning is fitted on to the shelf above the shop front, as it would have been in Victorian times, rather than in a recess. These shop front shelves were installed on shopfronts specifically for this purpose and you will see on old high street pictures how rows of awnings are installed at precisely the same height. Also the apparent absence of a supporting arm on the right hand side may confuse. However, what is unseen is the fact that we have fitted the arm inside the width of the shopfront as our surveyor chose a more secure fixing here rather than on the potentially friable pilaster. This is a classic example of how the employment of true, established, experts can ensure the safest, most practical, fixing for your awning. The graphic for Blancpain has been created and applied using our bespoke RAGS® branding process.
Blancpain is the world’s oldest watch brand. the New Bond Street branch reflects a distinct personality of the spirit of the brand’s watch-making workshops based in Le Brassus, with cherry wood accents and photography and video of the brand’s commitments to the underwater world and motorsport.
Bond Street is a major shopping street in the West End of London. It links Piccadilly in the south to Oxford Street in the north and has been popular for retail since the 18th century, being the home of many fashion outlets that sell prestigious or expensive items. The southern section is Old Bond Street and the longer northern section New Bond Street—a distinction not generally made in everyday usage.
