These five Victorian awnings have been installed by us at Birley's sandwiches located on the corner of Old Broad Street and London Wall in East London. They provide shade to the business interior and protection for queuing customers. The corner awning has been decorated, using our bespoke RAGS® branding process, to highlight the corner elevation which is also the point of customer entry. The awnings feature Morco's special hardwood boxes which have been painted using environmentally sound water based paints and the steel arms have been powder coated in our own powder coating oven. Traditional awning rollers contain a heavy duty steel spring which is adjusted by our onsite installers to give maximum tightness to the awning cover. Steel storm chains are also connected to the front laths to provide extra protection.
Birley's have spent more than 30 years building a reputation for quality. During that time, they have worked hard at perfecting and evolving their imaginative menus. Partnering carefully with selected suppliers to get every element just right you can start your day with a tasty breakfast sandwich, or later a healthy lunch option. Birley's also offer a convenient delivery service.
Old Broad Street and London Wall were in the area consumed by fire in 1666 by the Great Fire of London. It started on September 2nd in the King’s bakery in Pudding Lane near London Bridge but that summer had been very hot and there had been no rain for weeks, so consequently the wooden houses and buildings were tinder dry and soon most of the city was ablaze.
