Victorian awning installed at Lantana Restaurant, Shoreditch

20 Jun 2019

This Victorian awning we have just installed at Lantana Restaurant  in Oliver's Yard, Shoreditch, in the City of London varies from the traditional pull down pole method of operation .  Unusually, this traditional awning has been installed to operate by remote switching. The pivoting movement of the awning has made this possible and the installation is further enhanced by the way we have recessed the entire awning within the shop front. In all other respects this is a traditional Victorian awning constructed form harvested hardwood and secured by steel arms, powder coated to a weather resistant finish in our own powder coating facility.

Lantana Restaurant is  famous for their  breakfast & brunch served every day of the week & dinner Monday-Friday.  They have great quality specialty coffee made with their unique Lantana House Blend & own range of house made cakes. They  also serve many office catering clients ranging from staff breakfasts & board lunches to cake for meetings & canapés for evening events.

There are many theories about how Shoreditch came to be named as such. Some say it was originally "Shore's Ditch" after Jane shore, a Royal mistress of Edward Vl, supposedly buried in a ditch. No proof really exists but the area was certainly very boggy and no doubt ditches abounded.
