Victorian awning for Chucs of Knightsbridge

12 Nov 2018

Sometimes it is the pure simplicity of an awning installation which is the outstanding feature, and this solitary Victorian awning we have installed at Chucs, situated on Hans Road within the facade of a famous Knightsbridge retail landmark is such an example. Neatly installed within the portico entrance the hardwood awning casing appears almost to be a part of the building and, in the distant photo alongside you can almost expect a horse drawn Hackney to pull up at any moment. The valance to the awning has been subtly decorated in the Chucs style and the result reflects the elegance and sophistication of the location..

Chucs Restaurant & Cafe is the sister concept to the 1950s-inspired swimwear and men’s fashion label of the same name, founded by Charles Finch. It serves  Italian favourites in an exquisite setting. The restaurant provides  a widely appealing variety of Italian classics. It offers an  all-day dining experience, within a setting of refined glamour which is not too opulent yet retains just a hint of decadence.

Hans Road is named after  Sir Hans Sloane, 1st Baronet, who was an Irish physician, naturalist and collector noted for bequeathing his collection of 71,000 items to the British nation, thus providing the foundation of the British Museum, He was born in 1660 and lived to the age of 93, a remarkable lifetime for the period.
