RIB Wedge canopy and front curtain, Flying Horse Coffee

This RIB ® Wedge canopy and front curtain have been installed at The Flying Horse Coffee House in Hackney, London. It is constructed using our bespoke  system of manufacture which is a rigid assembly technique, unique to us, of lightweight aluminium profiles fitted together without the use of degradable plastic parts, thereby ensuring excellent resistance to weathering. In this example, at The Flying Horse, we have added a detachable front hanging curtain, with inset clear window,  to provide extra shade and additional  customer comfort. We have also taken advantage of the opportunity for displaying an extra customer message to both the canopy and the front valance. Unusually though, this time we have, at the client request, applied the text to the valance in Gold Leaf which has the extra advantage of resisting any deterioration over time and retaining that special golden glister.

Flying Horse Coffee was established in March 2018 and they strive to roast and deliver the highest quality and most sustainably sourced green beans from around the world. Flying Horse is primarily a roastery but they have a hole in the wall at Mare Street where they can serve you a variety of coffee drinks from flat white to filter to cold brew. Mare Street  has existed since the 15th century, when it was one of the first roads at the centre of Hackney. It was then known as Merestret. The word mere was either the Old English maere meaning a boundary — referring to the boundary with the parish of Stepney — or mere, a large pond which was fed by Hackney Brook.
