Marlesbury awnings at the Finborough Arms

25 Oct 2018

An outstanding feature of the Marlesbury awnings installed here on the traditional Finborough Arms Public House are the detailed graphics on the covers. The clarity of the branding of the awnings has only been possible by the use of the bespoke process we call the RAGS® system of graphics application. Unique to Morco this technology means we have been able to apply very small, fine edged, letters to the fabric which would have been impossible by other more traditional means.  There are 240 individual characters on these awnings, each of them accurately spaced and of fine definition.  The Marlesbury awnings themselves have powder coated frames to match the fabric covers and the valances have been weighted to maintain their vertical aspect. Operation is via a simple and reliable crank operated internal gearbox.

The Finborough Arms is a revived Victorian pub serving twelve individual  beers and ciders on tap. The pub was  built in 1868 as part of the Earl's Court development and has been a landmark ever since. This is an action packed pub with multiple screens, live music and London's leading off-West End theatre is housed in the pub's former function room upstairs.

Building in Kensington/Earls Court throughout the late 19th Century formed a very important constituent part of the London-wide building boom, accounting in 1867 and 1868 for ten per cent of all buildings being erected throughout London.
