Awnings Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Cafe have new awnings.

12 Oct 2017

Morco have installed awnings at some truly iconic locations in London and the Hard Rock Cafe in Park Lane must surely be amongst the most recognisable, seen just as you enter this famous street from the Marble Arch end.  The traditional Victorian awnings blend perfectly with the historic location yet the striking Hard Rock logos stand out boldly and without apology.

Alongside the traditional Victorian awnings is a bull nosed approach awning in the American style seen on hotels and restaurants all over the United States. Both the bull nosed awning and the Victorian awnings are decorated using the RAGS system of graphic application, exclusive to Morco.

Hard Rock Cafe Inc. is a chain of themed restaurants founded in 1971 by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton in London. In 1979, the cafe began covering its walls with rock and roll memorabilia, a tradition which expanded to others in the chain. The first piece of serious memorabilia was donated by Eric Clapton who was a regular at the first restaurant in London. Clapton wanted management to hang the guitar over his regular seat in order to lay claim to that spot, and they obliged. This prompted Pete Townshend of The Who to give one of his guitars, with the note "Mine's as good as his! Love, Pete.”  By December 2015, there were 191 Hard Rock locations in 59 countries, including 168 cafes, 23 hotels, and 11 casinos.
